Sketch Book Day 11 |
Just great! I have a bit more time on may hands than I thought I would, so of course I still wait until the last minute to write the rant. Still, I have enough time to mention that Wish3, one of the best webcomics around, IMHO, has resumed, to cue everyone in on Cafe Press’s increased avarice, and to link to this hilarious Chick Tract (though apparently it’s supposed to be serious). In other (brief) news, I’ve been working my way through my newly-purchased Die Another Day DVD, and I watched the video (by failed 80’s rap artist M.C. Ciccone’s sister) for the title track. I still can barely remember the song (in fact I’d venture to say it’s the least memorable of all Bond themes), and the video...well, let’s start with the fact that there are no clips from the film in the entire video. The video’s plot concerns Madonna being tortured by North Koreans, like Bond was, except he didn’t sing and gyrate during his ordeal (though to be fair, in the “Making Of” documentary, she was the first to point out how ridiculous it was). It intercuts between that and a white garbed Madonna fencing with a black garbed M. Louise Veronica Ciccone (apparently representing her ego) in a museum that has some Bond memorabilia (the Golden Gun, a nude woman painted gold, a portrait of Pierce Brosnan, and a statue of Oddjob (or is it a statue? and more importantly, why don’t they mention who it is in the doc, since the original died in ’82?). It’s slightly more memorable than the song. Time to edit and upload. |
