Hey, kids! It’s

Actually, I’m a bit disappointed, as I wanted to get either this or this, but all that was left (that I was remotely interested in) was this. Next year I’m gonna have to get the money together (and get the lead out) so I can contribute to the ’Space one, thus assuring I get a copy (a couple copies, actually).
Turns out a Lupin III TV ep was cut, though they promise to release it on a later, unspecified, volume. What gets me is their quote:
The launch of Lupin would not survive any negative press or stereotypes from this type of publicity.

In the end, the decision was made to delay the release of this episode until the franchise has been established and any negative aura would be countered by the established, true nature of Lupin: Charming characters and outrageous fun for people of all ages
They seem to be laboring under the misconception that the mainstream press and general public are actually paying attention to them. Let’s face it, while not broadcasting the episode on TV is a wise move (though then again, it just might get them some publicity), all dropping it from the video release does is piss off the fans. Even if the episode was Pro-Hitler (which I’m sure it isn’t - I’m pretty sure it’s just about trying to find a treasure Hitler hid away), the anti-Anime people are too busy condemning the whole medium as porn to care. On the other hand, Pioneer deserves some kudos
On to X-Men 2! I loved it! Alan Cumming was perfectly cast as Nightcrawler, and while I won’t know for sure until it comes out on vid and I can have my Mom verify it, his German appeared perfectly accented (then again, Famke Janssen is Dutch, Anna Paquin British, and Hugh Jackman Australian, so they clearly have excellent dialect coaches). They did a great job of juggling many characters and storylines (I don’t know why Halle Berry was complaining about being underused - either she was referring to an earlier cut, or her ego is a bit out of control), and though Cyke was a bit underused, he did get some great opportunities to emote, justifying what Bryan Singer said about James Marsden being cast because he can show emotion without showing his eyes. Now if only they’d make replicas of his visor ...
Oh yeah, for a more detailed X2 review, check out this rant by PVP’s Scott Kurtz.
